Digital/Crypto Currency Movement and Plays

Intro:
This post will have a bit of everything. My general thoughts on the sector and its future, a bit of brief DD, and my gameplan.! I would not advise making any financial decisions based on my comments without doing your own research.
Mods, in addition to the penny stocks, I also discuss an ETF and two funds that I've invested in that are not penny stocks. I felt that they were worth detailing though to explain my approach. I hope that's kosher.
I'm still getting familiar with the sector so I'd love to get some feedback if anyone more familiar can lend some insight. If anyone is aware of some other stocks similar to the ones I selected below that I may have overlooked or if you think I was wrong to toss out any that I mentioned, definitely let me know!
My thesis is this:
Cryptocurrencies have had some runs in the past but it appears to me that they are gaining traction as a financial instrument on Wall Street. Investments by big companies such as OSTK and SQ, regulatory discussions, and the emergence of blockchain are a few catalysts. This and the general sentiment in the big financial I'm seeing leads me to believe that this sector could see some big money pouring in imminently. Several sectors this year have seen their valuations multiply by 5-10 fold in the course of months. Vaccine biotechs, then EVs, and most recently solar to name a few. It seems like this could easily be next. I could see this move being something akin to the EV movement with a strong initial short term movement and with continued momentum for months or longer.
My stock selection strategy is this:
Some penny stocks like MARA, RIOT, BTBT, EQOS, EBON, and HVBTF have had big runs recently but when you dig into their financials, they are either abysmal or not easily available (i.e. on Seeking Alpha or the OTC site depending on their exchange). As more legitimate companies start to invest money, the low quality pump and dumps will lose traction and more legit companies with a good future will emerge. I eventually came across CAN and BRPHF(OTC), the brief highlights of which are as follows. Both of these focus on supplying the actual infrastructure components such as bitcoin miners and ancillary equipment. This means that regardless of how financially healthy any sketchy companies doing the mining are, as interest picks up, these guys are making money. Both have implemented share buyback programs recently. While they may have some debt or be loss-making currently (as many legit growth companies are), they have healthy balance sheets and optimism from management. CAN is coming off of recent lows which it has held well, so downside is relatively low right now. BRPHF is at recent highs but momentum has been good in getting there and I believe it has lots of room to grow.
My gameplan is this:
I invested in both companies above this morning when both were around 5-10% change for the day. They both went to 15-20% later in the day and settled in to close around 15%. I'm feeling good about them so far but will be keeping a close eye on them.
I also wanted additional exposure to the sector with a more direct reflection of its movement as a whole. To achieve this I took the following three additional positions, each a bit larger than the two above. First was the blockchain ETF BLOK. There are other blockchain ETFs out there, but I believe this has the most potential moving forward and is the most pure play of them.
The other two are pseudo trades of bitcoin and ethereum itself. Right now to trade the currencies without taking any risks associated with owning a cryptocurrency is via a set of funds from Grayscale for various cryptocurrencies. The funds are essentially a trust with a fixed amount of the cryptocurrency, and shares of the funds are traded like stocks. As such, the share price is not a 1:1 correlation with the currency's exchange rate since speculation and the effects of supply and demand factor in. As a matter of fact, there are often large differences in how the share price and exchange rate behave. Because of this, these funds also trade at a premium. For example, you could actually buy significantly more Ethereum directly for a given amount of dollars than the amount of ethereum represented by the amount of shares you could buy with the same amount of dollars. So if people start deciding to buy the cryptocurrency directly, the share price could take a significant hit. I'm not too worried about that in the near term, but I will be monitoring that situation closely. I may actually switch to that strategy myself in the medium term if things go well.
The two funds that I took positions in are ETCG for ethereum and GBTC for bitcoin. GBTC has been around for a while and has stabilized so that its price has a pretty good correlation to the bitcoin exchange rate. It finished today up about 7% compared to about 6% for the bitcoin exchange rate. ETCG is pretty new and is much more effected by supply and demand. For reference, it finished today up 25%. Right now its shares are coming off all time lows but as recently as July it was trading at 2-3 times the current value, and at one point in 2019, it was almost 10x. The risk is higher with this one but the upside is massive.
In summary:
I believe that digital currencies will see great things in the near future and have created a somewhat diversified strategy to give myself exposure, including the two penny stocks listed above.

Dont worry if you FOMO. You are not going to be millionaires anyway.

BTC is heading to new ATH. Many new people are stepping up the train, and many of them are posting questions such as "how to acquire most bitcoin ?", or "Is it still possible to have 1 BTC", or "what should I do to secure my BTC ?", and the worst: "Should I put all my savings in BTC" ? ...
Those are some legit questions, but if you are asking yourself those questions, you are probably about to burn yourself and becoming a future millionaire has maybe struck your head. Let's just do some quick math to show you that you will NOT become a millionaire.
Following the BTC pattern, I saw many youtubers predicting that BTC price is heading toward 200k USD in one or two years. This is a very optimistic prediction. But let's take it to have the most favorable scenario.
So if you are a broke ass newcomer like most of the people here, you can barely afford 1BTC right now. If you can, your net profit in 1-2 years will be roughly 180k USD. This is a very good income in only two years. But still, you are not a millionaire.
If you want to be a millionaire, you would need to buy at least 5-6 BTC right now, which you cannot afford (even with all your savings) if you are part of the people I mentioned above, and like more than 90% of the population. There are only a few dudes in the world who became multi-millionaire with BTC because they bought a lot when it was below 1K USD. Since then, most of the people are just securing a good retirement plan (even if some of them burned everything in a Lambo...).
SO what should you do ? Is investing in BTC really worth it, even if you will not buy a Lambo? I still believe yes.
If the price of BTC is multiplied by 15 in the next two years, your investment, even as small as it, will also be multiplied by 15. This is still a good income.
So, don’t' burn all your savings, BTC can still only go to 20K then dump again. And take your time to only invest what you can afford to lose.

TL;DR: The times when it was highly profitable to buy BTC are gone a long time ago. Stack stats with what you have, buy the dips when you can, and hodl.
EDIT: In other words, if you are a newcomer, you should read this first.

[05.12.20 updated] Massive List of Most LEGIT free sites for CS:GO case openings + added website

I just wanted to take some time to list simply the best FREE CS:GO case opening sites, which went down few notches after the recent Valve changes. Nowadays it’s nearly impossible to find a legit site without having to deposit $1-5 and to gamble, but I’ve listed the cheapest sites with best strategies so that you could also profit from them, like I have done. I’ve also listed the total amount I have been able to withdraw!
You also find the complete list at https://skinsmaster.vip/
1. HellCase Join via: https://skinsmaster.vip/index.html#hellcase
Still simply THE BEST site out there! Thanks to all you great people I have finally reached affiliate level 5 on HellCase, meaning that YOU get free Rainbow case, arguably the best case on the site and the only one I ever personally buy (free $0.70 just by using my link - use that to buy one Rainbow case or two Mil-Spec cases if you just want more skins) just by joining and using the ref code 6230763. Also free daily case if you add hellcase.com to your name or refill with $5. Highly recommended!
2. CSGoFast Join via: https://skinsmaster.vip/index.html#csgofast
Nowhere near the easy and totally free site it used to be, but the minimum deposit to COMPLETELY unlock withdrawals is just $1, and VGO is accepted for easy, instant access. Same deal with gambling; no more free cases. Luckily their Solo PvE Slot seems to be pretty generous, so I would recommend you to start with $0.1 bet and 5 winlines until to get to like $10 or so, and then switch to full 9 lines and maybe up the bet as well. The best thing about this game are the bonus games which use all 9 winlines regardless, and your original bet, so it’s a fast way to really multiply your money.
3. CSGetto Join via: https://skinsmaster.vip/index.html#csgetto
Free case from here if you add their URL to your username, and if you have a VK.com account (which you really should with CS:GO sites, because most of them are Russian) you can just like their page and get more points for another free case.
4. Farmskins Join via: https://skinsmaster.vip/index.html#farmskins
Another totally legit site, although they do require minimum of $4 deposit to enable withdrawals. But as you can just deposit $5, get either AWP or AK-47 skin and then cheaper skins with that and just withdraw them immediately this is not a problem.
Use code REDDIT to get $0.90 for free when registering!
5. PVPro Join via: https://skinsmaster.vip/index.html#pvpro
Join and use my code to receive 50 free coins. Nowadays you need to play 5 PvP games to unlock the marketplace, since they switched from their own market to a player driven marketplace. But since the games can be played for free and you can win more coins that way, you’ll soon enough can start buying your skins!
6. WTFSkins Join via: https://skinsmaster.vip/index.html#wtfskins
Register and use code redditskin (click on FREE on the top of the screen) to get $0.40 which you can directly use on the store and withdraw without making a deposit!
You can also link your Twitter to get an extra $0.1!
Remember to claim your free coins daily!
7.CSGOLive Join via: https://skinsmaster.vip/index.html#csgolive
Same deal as with WTFSkins (same team runs the sites). Register and use the code redditskins and link your Twitter (optional, but recommended) to get $0.16 which you can use to open two Graveyard Cases. No deposit to withdraw.
Remember to claim your free coins daily!
8. ClickLoot Join via: https://skinsmaster.vip/index.html#clickloot
ClickLoot (before SkinSilo) is a site that tends to go bit up and down, and if you're moving around, even traveling, they can easily lock down your account and while you should be able to get it unlocked via support, but who knows when that no longer is an option. But unless you travel frequently this one is still a decent option that actually lets you withdraw your skins to Steam fast. Also offers cryptocurrency withdrawals for bigger sums.
Register and use the code redditfreeskins.
9. CSGOEmpire Join via: https://skinsmaster.vip/index.html#csgoempire
Free case just by joining and using the code REDDITCSGO by clicking the Free Case link on the top of the site. Withdrawals to CS:GO (Insteant), CS:GO (Trade-Locked), Dota 2, Rust or H1Z1. Bitcoin and Ethereum withdrawals coming soon. Free daily cases for leveling up, coin flip, roulette and match betting for gambling.
Register and use the code REDDITCSGO.
10. EZRage Join via: https://skinsmaster.vip/index.html#ezrage
EZRage does not offer case openings, but they have great odds for fast games and coinflips, and they also offer 100 player jackpot games! Joining and using my code grants you extra 5% on each deposit, so remember to use the code to get most out of using this site.
Register and use the code REDDIT to receive 5% more on each deposit.
11. DaddySkins Join via: https://skinsmaster.vip/index.html#daddyskins
DaddySkins has loads of features ranging from cheap cases ($0.29 Mil-Spec!) to arena competitions and item upgraders. They support Ethereum payments which you can use to get your user level higher to get access to absolutely free daily cases.
12. Gamdom Join via: https://skinsmaster.vip/index.html#gamdom
This site has it all - apart from case openings, that is. But as you can just play easy games like crash to earn coins and then You can withdraw CSGO items directly, but cryptocurrency withdrawals require a deposit to be unlocked.
Register and use the code REDDIT to receive up to 80 000 coins to really get you started!

'''
I have seen a few youtubers using this roobet crash game, where they use bitcoin to bet. It looks like a really simple way of making more bitcoin. If you play it safe, and cash out at a low multiplier you are bound to make more bitcoin over a longer period of time. Does anyone know if there is a catch to this? Because it sound too good to be true...

How high chance that Tether will get shut down?

There are a lot of evidence that Tether is doing something fishy, I think we all know that. Here's a list of the reasons I could come up with on the top of my head:
- They never finished their promised audit.
- They lied about not being affected by crypto capital when they lost $850M.
- They moved $850M of their assets without letting the holders of Tether know.
- They CHANGED what their reserves were supposed to hold, from 1 - 1 USD backing to "Tether's" reserves.
- They resist every possibility of not handing over documents regarding how Tether is minted and it's related transactions.
- Tether in circulation and Bitcoin price seems to correlate.
- Lawyer did say they've held crypto currency as reserve.

Let's say the whole thing is legit and Tether hasn't been manipulating the price of Bitcoin, printing Tether without any backing or chasing liquidations on leverage platform with the help of Tether. Even if all of those things were true it does seem as if Tether could function as a very good way for money laundering, wouldn't this be enough to shut it down, just like they did with Liberty Reserve?
How high chance do you think it is that Tether will get shutdown within the next 2 years? I personally think it is somewhere around 50 - 60 % and essentially 100 % within the next 5 - 7 years. What type of potential downside do you think the crypto market could take from that hit? I see a 75 % downside in the whole crypto market cap if Tether gets shut down since it will instill a lot of distrust in the market as a whole and due to the 4 Billion USDT pushing the price up with a multiplier effect.
I currently have 35 % of my portfolio in fiat due to the uncertainty around Tether, I could be mistaken in my analysis and would like to hear some other guys opinion. Sometimes I've heard the argument that the price of BTC would rise if Tether collapse, that may be true in the short term but probably not in the long run. Another aspect which I have thought about is that the market already have priced in the Tether uncertainty, which I doubt since this market is mainly fueled by greed and risk-taking.

I did it ! I invested 100$ USD to bitcoin today thanks to you guys !

Okay so a few days ago i made a post asking pretty much all the questions i had to confirm what I know is correct. And thanks to you guys i gained confidence to put money in!
Since im a college student with no job but school you guys informed me on how to not deal with the IRS . Which is to get a paper wallet thanks to u/cantonbecker and to just put cash in via ATM and just hold on to it which is what i will do . So my goal is to hold on to my investments for as long as 10 years !
I will forsure keep putting money into my paper wallet when i get a chance . Im still sort of confused on how to calculate my earnings . 100$ got me .004037 BTC . From what i was told i would multiply that to the current value which is $16,524.00 . And that equals 72.20 $ so does that mean thats how much i gained today ? Im not too sure . I looked on blockchain aswell and i assume my final value is my current value ? I would like to keep all my info off line so i dont want to make an account on an app or anything like that. Im trying to avoid taxes and “transactions”!
EDIT : I figured out how much i have . Lol damn atm fees. Stop calling me a retard now yall . Im over here saying how great some people are here and im over here getting called a retard .
Edit : apparently i got hit with fees lol now to learn how to avoid them haha
Either way im happy! Thanks to all of you who helped answer my questions . I always second guess doing a post because i do not want to look stupid but i always like confirmation and make sure i know everything is correct .
EDIT : so i just learned about localbitcoins (dot) com. So it looks like the people on there are legit and verified with their license and ID so im confident I shouldnt be getting scammed on there . But i have a few questions :
Which is the best way to buy from there as in payment method ?
Also buying from there and moving it into my account will it count as a transaction as in i will have to report to the IRS and put it on my taxes ?
As you seen Im using paper wallet so id like to play it safe lol

I received my US$500k fiat withdrawal from Finex. FINEX IS NOT A SCAM.

hi there,
  1. Finex has the biggest trading volume or the 2nd biggest trading volume, varying at times with the korean exchange, bitthumb.
  2. Finex does not have just 1 stream of income. It has multiple sources of income.
2.1. trading volume commission : of which it is the dominant exchange currently.
2.2. margin lending commission : yes, it operates like bitmex, providing margin trading to gambling degenerates to self-rekt via shorting or 100X's. ( but I think finex gives a lower multiplier than bitmex )
2.3. margin funding commission : did u exit your position entirely and wished u didn't? stay in to be profitable by providing margin funding to the gambling degenerates. The normal daily USDT rates of 0.08% per day is enough to make u realise finex is the next best thing to any financial instruction that you can find, that's legit.
( The only thing better is to actually participate in an actual ponzi, i.e. BitConnect. No? )
  1. Finex is dealing with 1.6m new subscribers.
I seriously don't think Finex expected a global surge in demand from consumers. As a biz, you would not design to such excesses in manpower, you just won't. No one knows bitcoin would hit $1000 just last year. No?
Keep Calm & Raise a Support Ticket ( Finex would take care of u )
and people, please. if u have a dust amount... you need to know that Finex will not scam you. They should be scamming people, like me first, before they consider u.
This is the purpose of my post, to reassure the FUDing crowd.

This is a post that isn't just aimed towards newer players, but to everybody. I'm including a lot of information in this, and it is basically my guide to trading in general. It's a compilation of my past 2 years of trading combined with everything I've learned from other people, and I hope that it helps you all.

I would also like to add that I'm doing my best to credit everyone who made x image, but some of the images were found on imgur or without parent posts, so if you could please tell me who made x image, I will happily update the post with credit to them.
Edit: Fixed a lot of typos.
Edit 2: Thanks for all of the support and feedback! Very glad to know that people will be using this guide :)
Edit 3: If you guys want, I will go ahead and work on the video version I was considering making this week. It will be a fair amount of work, but It should be nice.

Without further stalling, let's get started!
1.0 - Trading Basics
In late 2011, before CS:GO was even released, Valve introduced the ability to trade TF2 items in Steam. It was a phenomenon that nobody thought would become as big as it was, and it has only expanded over the last 5 years. With the Arms Deal update in CS:GO on the 14th of August, 2013, we were introduced to what would eventually become one of the largest and most sustained economies in gaming. A trade is when two steam users interact by moving items from accounts, and the safety and level of it has evolved since its release. Trades can be live, or they can be offers. An offer is when a user sends a non-live trade to another player, who can then spend time to think about it, and either decline or accept the offer.
1.1 - Getting Started
Against what all of the nothing to knife videos would lead you to believe, trading is not something where you can get to a FN Dragon Lore from a Nova Sand mesh... well not within 2 weeks (Unless you are very fucking lucky.) The best way to start out trading is to invest $50+ and start from there. The more you invest, the easier it is to make profit, but there are more risks associated with some higher tier items. The least amount of money you should spend when getting into the game is $10, $5 is fine too, but honestly, it is worth spending the amount of money that you might spend on lunch to buy some skins that will last longer then said lunch.
In order to get started with trading, you will need the following:
The rest is explained throughout this guide.
1.2 - Who to Trust
Deciding on who to trust is simultaneously extremely easy and incredibly difficult. When you're doing a normal trade, there is next to nothing that the other person can do to scam you. Basically, as long as they or you send a trade offer with both items in the trade, you're golden.
Never trade with people who do the following:
1.3 - Cashrep
So what is cashrep? Cashrep is a Reputation thread that a user uses when they are doing trades for real money. If you're looking to start trading with real money yourself, the best thing to do is to small money trades with extremely reputable traders who have extensive cashrep, to start building your own.
So what is steamrep? Steamrep (http://steamrep.com/) is a community run website that is aimed stopping scammers in their tracks. Always check a user's account before trading with them, regardless of whether they are doing a cash trade with you or not. This is important, because some people will go to extensive lengths just to get a bit of extra cash from you. I am also aware that everyone does not believe steamrep is necessary, but believe me when I say that it is actually a very useful tool that has saved me plenty of time with figuring out people who have tried to scam me out of real money.
1.4 - The Most Common Scams
1.5 - Trading Etiquette
Here is a list of the things that you should and shouldn't do just as general rules of thumb.
1.6 - Trade Confirmations: What Are They?
Trade confirmations are done via a mobile device. They are pretty much forced upon players to make them do their best to keep their accounts secure. All that you need to do when trading is open your phone, click on the notification that the app gives you, and doublecheck and confirm the trade.
2.0 - Patterns: What Are They And Why are They Important?
A pattern is an ID from 1-999 that is assigned to any item in one's inventory. Randomly generated skins (such as Electric Hive, Crimson Web, Case Hardened, Modern Hunter, Fade, etc.) will appear unique in every pattern. Don't be mistaken though, patterns do affect static skins (such as Dragon Lore, Fire Serpent, Howl, etc.) in a significant way as well. Each pattern also changed wear placement on the gun slightly (i.e. two different skins with the exact same float but different pattern IDs can have completely different scratches.)
It is also noteworthy that every single skin on a given gun with a certain pattern ID will have the exact same wear placement, regardless of what skin it is.
This is important. Note that on ALL of the DLC Knives (Butterfly, Huntsman, Falchion, Shadow Daggers, and the Bowie Knife), the patterns are mirrored. This means that any 'double sided xx' on these knives are lying, or just uninformed.
2.1 - Slaughter Patterns
Slaughter has a wide variety of unique looks, but not all patterns that people claim are patterns are accepted by the community.
The most commonly used patterns are listed here:
This is an image that shows what all of the slaughter patterns look like (generally). It however does have a terrible example of a heart, but finding good heart examples can be difficult.
This is what the slaughter pattern i nthe game files looks like, the shape in the middle of it is the heart.
2.2 - Crimson Web Patterns
Crimson web simultaneously matters the least and the most when it comes to patterns.
Here is an album of 3 different factory new m9 crimson webs, each with different webs to illustrate my point.
2.3 - Fade Patterns
Fade value varies from knife to knife. On the gut knife it is actually unaffected 95% of the time (110% 0.00x usually goes for 105% of market, but nothing else usually sells for much more.) Flip knives are actually sold equivalent to their fade percentage of SA Price (i.e. 90% fade for 90% of steamanalyst, and same for 110%). Meanwhile Karambits go as low as 190 and as high as 700. I will have to update the guide with more prices soon.
Tip: You can use CSGOZone to check the fade percentages of most knives pretty acurately, but it isn't 100% accurate, so doublecheck with people to confirm the fade.
Tip 2: Metjm has an amazing database to scroll through every fade pattern on a few of the knives. View Here.
2.4 - Marble Fade Patterns
Marble fades are one of the most desirable knife finishes in the game, being quite popular in general. Against what some of the shittily made guides out there will have you to believe, you can only get True Fire & Ice with no yellow on the Karambit, Flip Knife, Gut Knife, and Bayonet. This means that you cannot get Fire and Ice on the M9 Bayonet.
On The M9 Bayonet, the most desirable pattern is the Max Red tip, the least desirable is yellow, and the middle child is blue tips.
2.5 Electric Hive Patterns
Electric hives are a skin with a wide pattern range, but many traders either ignore them or are even unaware of the pattern value ranges. I'm an Electric Hive enthusiast myself, and I'm speaking out of my own experience for this part.
Similar to Case Hardeneds, Electric hives desirability peaks at Full Blue, followed by Full Orange hives. Other hives are generally considered to be nothing special, and sell ar market.
The desirability of blue patterns is based NOT on the amount of blue/orange, but the solidity of the line itself. The ideal patterns are shown below, note where the purple line sits.
There is more to go into with these, will add more images when Metjm's buggy screenshots are updated.
2.6 - Kami Patterns
Kamis are purely based on whatever the person is willing to pay for them. A Good example is the Vagina Kami, which from what I've heard has sold for more then 20 keys in the past..
Many patterns exist on the back of the 5-7 Kami, but there aren't that many solid guides for them.
2.7 - Case Hardened Patterns
Case Hardened is simultaneously one of the most and least desired skin & knife finishes in the game.
The prices of these items involve too many factors for me to go over, but the TL;DR version of it is that Blue = Sexy and Rust/Grey = Shit.
Here are some examples of blue gems for each case hardened. Credit to acidaus for finding some of the METJMs and Alamer99 for 3 of the bowies:
2.8 - Doppler
Doppler is extremely controversial because of some of the terms that certain people use to describe their knives.
There are 7 different game files for the doppler, called Phases. The phases are as follows.
People use terms such as "Fake Black Pearl" and "Pink Galaxy" to describe their dopplers. Using terms that do not describe something that it isn't aren't allowed (i.e. a Phase 3 full black is just that, full black. Not a Fake Black Pearl. Phase 1 can arguably be fake black pearl since it has purple, not black.) This is the gray area of dopplers, and is up for debate.
2.9 - Other
This section is for skins that some people may argue deserve to have pattern price differences, but in my experience don't matter. Icarus fells for example are very debatable. I've bought and sold almost all of the Phases of icarus fells for 85% of steamanalyst in keys (only float has mattered in my experience), but I know that some people find certain patterns more desirable. With items such as Icarus fells, it is purely the user's preference that matters.
Other items that fall under this category are:
3.0 - Float Values: What Are They?
A float value (Or Floating Point) is a static numeric string used in programming to set a value for whatever purpose is correct in context. In the case of CS:GO, the float value of an item determines the amount of wear it has (relative to the pattern seed's wear placement.) Basically, higher float skins have worse wears (Battle-Scarred through Field-Tested) and lower float skins have better wears (Field-Tested through Factory New.)
The Float ranges for items are as follows:
3.1 - Float Values and Knives
Float ranges vary on every skin in the game. It's noteworthy that on the Karambit, the pattern is just as important as the wear, as you can get 0.04 corners that look better then 0.000x ones.
Many knives have a minimum float of 0.06, which makes Factory New extremely rare, since skins have a bell curve on condition (making Field-Tested much more common then Factory New and Very Battle-Scarred)
As you can see, most of the knives with Custom paint finishes all have a 0.06-0.80 float range, making FN equally rare on all of them. Fades are uncommon in minimal wear, but not as rare as a FN Crimson web.
Rust coat and slaughter are the only knives that don't follow the trope.
3.2 - Float Values and Skins
Skins float ranges are determined by their creators.
The only skins that have 0.06 min floats are usually valve-made skins (such as fire serpent, safari mesh, etc.) and most other skins are usually 0.00x - 1.00.
Notable exceptions are AWP/M4 Asiimov (0.18 - 1.00) and Galil Chatterbox (0.35 - 1.00.)
4.0 - Key Trading 101
Keys are the universal currency of the Counter-Strike economy. So how exactly do they work?
If your item is regularly listed on the steam market (and doesn't have any special stickers/patterns), then the typical way to list it is to use SteamAnalyst's averages, and multiplying them by 0.80-0.90 depending on the item's desirability. 0.8 is 80%, which is usually considered a quicksell. 85%-90% are considered quicksells by some and normal prices by others. Note that no item should sell for 100% of steamanalyst if it has no special traits, unless the person wants the item very fast.
4.1 - High Tier Key Trading
For items over 130 keys, the most common thing to do is to look on Reddit (or lounge, depending on your style) and find similarly listed items that actually sold at that price recently. These are the community's agreed prices on these items. If you're using items that are regularly listed on the steam community market to trade for high tier items, then you will need to use the 80-90% averages as explained above.
4.2 - Key Prices
When buying keys with real cash, the price for you depends on several factors.
The Price for keys varies depending on these factors. Basically, the more reputable you are, the easier it is to get cheaper keys (Via Bitcoin rates are usually $1.8-$2.0). This completely depends on the above factors though.
5.0 - Souvenir Items 101
Souvenir items are items that were dropped from Souvenir packages, which were dropped from Valve-Sponsored Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Majors. These are all of the majors that have happened so far:
5.1 - Which Stickers Add Value?
This is a debatable subject.
Stickers based on rarity (Rarest to Most common):
In the latest two 2015 tournaments, signature stickers were added, and some of these add significant value to guns. These are the stickers that add the most value.
Most other signature stickers don't add significant value. These are just the most noteworthy ones.
6.0 - Stickers on Guns
Up until mid 2015, stickers adding value to guns was considered to be a joke by the general trading community. Once the Katowice 2014 stickers skyrocketed, people realized that the look was actually worth paying for, and Kato 14 collectors started to grow. Now, stickers are considered to be an important part of the trading meta if their value is > 10 keys.
6.1 - Calculating Sticker Values
Before anything else, check these factors:
Unfortunately, the price from stickers varies too greatly based on these factors as well as trivial things such as StatTrak and all of that, so I will not be adding back the general pricing.
7.0 - Trading FAQs
Q. What are steam levels and why do they matter?
Steam levels are a level (ofc) that is determined based on the number of badges a user possesses. Each badge is worth 100 XP (with a few exceptions) and they cost money to craft (usually). High steam levels have spent considerable amounts of time & money, and usually don't want to risk their high level account as it is hard to replicate. This does not mean that someone with say a level 300 account isn't scamming, but it is much less likely for someone with a steam level > 200 to scam then someone with say a 50 level. (Though there are scammers and legit dealers at all levels.)
Q. I got scammed, what do I do?
Report it to Steam Support and on the Steamrep Forums & Partner communities. GoTrade itself is a great place to report scammers.
Q. Why are Katowice Stickers and some souvenirs so expensive?
Simply because of the fact that they are from a time when CS was newer and less popular, so there is a small supply of them.
Q. Why do traders pay so much just for a certain float or pattern?
Because of the rarity, uniqueness, and look.
Q. How do I get started on cash trading?
The best way to get started on cash trading is to deal with well known traders in small amounts to build a rep.
That's the end of the guide (For now). If there is anything that I should add to it, please let me know as I will be expanding it in the future. It took a considerable amount of time to make this, so I would very much appreciate your feedback!!

The Massive Value Prop of SUMOkoin: a Corporate Lawyer's Analysis

Can you guys help us all out and upvote those posts?
Trying to do my part to spread the word.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TEAM! (SKIP TO END FOR TLDR :)
[Note: this post was originally drafted on Christmas Day and subsequently edited]
[Disclaimer: I am posting this in triplicate on cryptocurrency cryptomarkets monero for visibility]

***Intro***
This is my first try at one of these. I am going to make a case for SUMOkoin (SUMO on Cryptopia) from a pure VALUE perspective. I’ve been researching privacy coins deeply and feel I’ve reached a sufficient conclusion to merit sharing SUMO.
SUMOkoin is a fork of MONERO (XMR). In my opinion, XMR is hands down the most undervalued coin in the top 15. Once people figure out how to value privacy into the value of a coin, XMR, along with the other privacy coins like SUMO, will skyrocket.
I am not here to argue SUMO is superior to XMR. That’s not what this post is about. I don’t find debating the merits of SUMO vs. XMR interesting as investing in SUMO has nothing to do with SUMO overtaking XMR. If anything, I’d argue that the merits of XMR underline the value of SUMO. What I do find interesting is return on investment (“ROI”). If you do want to argue about XMR vs. SUMO, I can point you to this infographic: https://i.redd.it/0eqfkg1hq2501.jpg

***Background***
I’m a corporate lawyer in Silicon Valley. my practice focuses on venture capital financing (“VC)”) and mergers & acquisitions (“M&A”). basically I spend all day every fucking day reviewing and revising cap tables, stock purchase agreements and merger agreements.
I started using BTC in 2014 in conjunction with silk road and TOR. I had a minor conniption when I recently calculated how much BTC I handled in 2014. My 2017 has been good with IOTA at sub $0.30, POWR at $0.12, ENJIN at $0.02, REQ at $0.05, ENIGMA, and PHORE.
My crypto investing philosophy is based on betting long odds. As Warren Buffet said, consolidate to get rich, diversify to stay rich. That said I strongly recommend you have an IRA and/or 401(k) in place prior to venturing into crypto. But when it comes to crypto, I’d happily strike out several times to have a chance at hitting a 100x. This is probably born out of working with VCs who do the same only with companies, not coins. I view myself as a mini-VC in the cryptosphere.

The Number 1 thing I've taken away from corporate law is that it pays to get in EARLY
Did you know that the typical founder buys their shares for $0.00001 per share? So if a founder owns 5 million shares, they bought those shares for $50 total. The typical IPO goes out the door at $10-20 per share. My iPhone calculator says ERROR when it tries to divide $10/0.00001 because it runs out of screen space.
At the time of this writing, SUMO has a Marketcap of $5 million. Given it’s market cap and its XMR-likeness, I am positive SUMO is the best value investment in the Privacy Coin arena at this time. PHR is another competitor, but at $50m market cap, I feel it has lost its mega potential for you and me.

***Merits of SUMO***
So what’s so good about SUMOkoin? Didn’t you say it was just a Monero knock-off?
1) Well, sort of. SUMO is based on CryptoNote and was conceived from a fork of Monero, with a little bit of extra privacy thrown in. It would not be wrong to think SUMO is to Litecoin as XMR is to Bitcoin.
2) Increased Privacy. Which brings us to point 2. SUMO is doing a couple things to increase privacy and nimbleness simultaneously. Monero currently does many of these too — though at the fork MONERO could not. Don’t forget Monero is also 5.5 billion market cap to SUMO’s 5 million.
a) RingCT. All transactions are RingCT (ring confidential transactions) and the minimum “mixin” transactions is 13 (12 plus the original transaction) which gives passes the threshold to resist blockchain attacks. No transactions made on the SUMO blockchain can ever be traced to the actual participants. Nifty huh?
b) Sub-addresses. The wallet deploys disposable sub-addresses to conceal your real sumo wallet address even from senders (who typically would need to know your actual address to send currency). Monero also does this.
3) Fungibility aka “Digital Cash”. This term gets thrown about a bunch, but basically, it means ‘how close is this coin to cash in terms of usage?’ Well, Sumokoin is one of a few cryptos that can boast true fungibility — SUMO can act just like physical cash i.e. no other people can find where the money comes from and how many have been transferred.
5) Mining Made Easy Mode. Seeing as SUMO was a fork, and not an ICO, they didn’t have to rewrite the wheel. Instead they focused on putting together some solid fundamentals like a great wallet and a dedicated mining application that lets you start mining with your current CPU. Check out the “Sumojoin Easy Minder” - simply run and start mining.
6) Intuitive and Secure Wallet. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, yet in this day and age, apparently it is not a prereq. They already have a GUI wallet, litewallet, plus those unlimited sub-addresses to boot that I mentioned above.
7) Decentralization. SUMO is botnet-proof, and therefore botnet mining resistant. When a botnet joins a mining pool, it adjusts the mining difficulty, thereby balancing the difficulty level of mining.
8) Dev Team // Locked Coins // Future Development Funds. There are lots of things that make this coin a ‘go.’ but perhaps the most overlooked in crypto is that the devs have done an excellent job delivering ahead of schedule. If you’re an engineer or have managed projects, you know how difficult hitting projected deadlines can be. These guys update github very frequently and there is a high degree of visibility. The devs have also time-locked their pre-mine in a publicly view-able wallet for years so they aren't bailing out with a pump and dump. The dev team is based in Japan.
9) Broad Appeal. If marketed properly, SUMO has the ability to appeal to older individuals venturing into crypto due to the fungibility / similarities to cash. This is not different than XMR, and I expect it will be exploited in 2018 by all privacy coins. It could breed familiarity with new money, and new money is the future of crypto.
10) Marketing. Which brings me to my final point - and it happens to be a weakness. SUMO needs a community effort to distribute information to the masses. A good example is Vert Coin. Their team is very good at disseminating information. I’m not talking about hyping a coin; I’m talking about how effectively can you spread facts about your product to the masses.
To get mainstream SUMO needs something like this VertCoin post: https://www.reddit.com/vertcoin/comments/7ixkbf/vertbase_a_vertcoin_to_usd_exchange/

***Market Cap Discussion***
For a coin with using Monero’s tech, 5 million is minuscule. For any coin, 5 mil is nothing. Some MC comparisons [as of December 25th, 2017]:

Let's talk about market cap ("MC") for a minute.
It gets tossed around a lot, but I don’t think people appreciate how important getting in early can be. Say you buy into SUMO at 5 million MC. Things go well and 20 million new money gets poured into SUMO. Now the MC is 25 million. Your gains are 4x (you invested $1,000 and now you have 5,000, netting 4,000).
Now let’s says say you bought at 10 million instead of 5 million. $15 mill gets poured in until the MC again reaches 25 mil. Your gains are 1.5x (you put in $1,000, you now have 2,500, netting 1,500)
Remember: investing at 5 mil MC vs. 10 mil MC represents an EXTREMELY subtle shift in time of investment (“TOI”). But the difference in net profit is dramatic. the biggest factor is that your ROI multiplier is locked in at your TOI — meaning every 25 million that gets added to the MC pot, you 4X you're returns.
Example MC = 100
I strongly believe SUMO can and will 20x in Q1 2018 and 100x by end of Q4 2018 reach $500,000 MC. There is ample room for a tricked out Monero clone at 500 MC. That’s 100x.
Guess how many coins have 500 mil market caps? 48 as of this writing. 48! Have many of these coins with about ~500 mil MC have you heard of?
MaidSafeCoin?
Status?
Decred?
Veritaseum?
SUMO has potential to surpass those.

***The Importance of Privacy***
I want to close with a brief discussion of privacy as it relates to fundamental rights and as to crypto. 2018 will be remembered as the Year of Privacy Coins. Privacy has always been at the core of crypto. This is no coincidence. “Privacy” is the word we have attached to the concept of possessing the freedom to do as you please within the law without explaining yourself to the government or financial institution.
Discussing privacy from a financial perspective is difficult because it has very deep political significance. But that is precisely why it is so valuable.
Privacy is the right of billions of people not to be surveilled. We live in a world where every single transaction you do through the majority financial system is recorded, analyzed and sold — and yet where the money goes is completely opaque. Our transactions are visible from the top, but we can’t see up. Privacy coins turn that upside down.
Privacy is a human right. It is the guarantor of American constitutional freedom. It is the cornerstone of freedoms of expression, association, political speech and all our other freedoms for that matter. And privacy coins are at the root of that freedom. What the internet did for freedom of information, privacy coins will do for freedom of financial transactions.

***TL;DR:***
2018 = Year of Privacy Coins // Monero is legit aka is the most undervalued coin in the Top 15 // SUMO is low MC clone meaning great ROI opportunity // ROI is everything // did I mention ROI is everything? // Consolidate to get rich; diversify to stay rich // extra strong code foundation + strong dev team + SUMO team financial incentives locked in multi-year vesting schedule // un-limited sub-addresses associated with Wallet & Litewallet means complete anonynimity // RingCT w/ 12+1 minimum mixins means complete confidentiality // legit Fungibility (like cash) means MARKET VALUE of privacy is baked into the currency // Mining Made Easy for those interested/able // is Botnet mining resistant // has unique market appeal to UNSOPHISTICATED DEEP pockets due to similarity to cash.

Michael Toomim [8:06 AM] Satoshi believed the only way to prevent control is to give everyone a copy of the ledger.
[8:06] Give everyone an opportunity to vote.
eric-ledger [8:06 AM] @mtoomim: I think you are delusional
Michael Toomim [8:06 AM] Give everyone an opportunity to transact.
anduck [8:06 AM] mtoomim: bitcoin classic is against that, too.
[8:06] as you very well know.(edited)
Michael Toomim [8:06 AM] We give everyone an opportunity to upgrade the protocol.
Adam Back [8:06 AM] mtoomim: do you understand why the developers of bitcoin used to propose a HF but switched to a SF once it became clear that it was possible because it is safer and faster?
Michael Toomim [8:06 AM] You can take part in bitcoin.
[8:06] You can add yourself to it.
[8:06] Express yourself on consider.it.
anduck [8:06 AM] are you a bot?
Michael Toomim [8:07 AM] Are you a bot?
dts [8:07 AM] I'm convinced, I welcome our new pot smoking master
James Hillard [8:07 AM] @opet: when did I ever refer to you as being part of the uneducated masses?
Michael Toomim [8:07 AM] Do you wanna speak bot? Bleep Bleep Bloop!
[8:07] 1010111
Adam Back [8:07 AM] opet: "it's an image and communication problem." this is agreed
Michael Toomim [8:07 AM] What's your favorite wave? Mine's triangle.
eric-ledger [8:07 AM] you sound like a cultist
anduck [8:07 AM] mtoomim: quit advertising your platform
Michael Toomim [8:07 AM] Haha I'm just stoned guys.
Adam Back [8:07 AM] lol
Michael Toomim [8:07 AM] Cultists do get stoned a lot.
[8:07] But I'm just stoned.
Adam Back [8:07 AM] mtoomim: are you serious?
Michael Toomim [8:07 AM] You're mistaking correlation with causation.
dts [8:07 AM] If any miners are here, please pay attention to @mtoomim words
Michael Toomim [8:07 AM] Yes I'm serious. Do you not believe me? Test me!
anduck [8:08 AM] mtoomim: so how much did you pay the miners? 0 or more
Michael Toomim [8:08 AM] I'd love more attention. I love attention!
[8:08] What? I am the miner!
[8:08] https://toom.im Toomim Bros. Bitcoin Mining Concern Toomim Bros. provides hosting for bitcoin mining. Our mining center is powered by some of the most wallet- and climate-friendly power in the world.
eric-ledger [8:08 AM] meltdown
anduck [8:08 AM] as stated earlier, it's a valid concern that you may have paid miners. you offered money to other to do things that people have been doing for NO money earlier.
Michael Toomim [8:08 AM] I pay myself every day.
anduck [8:08 AM] @mtoomim: did the miners get paid to express support for Classic or not?
Adam Back [8:08 AM] mtoomim: are you literally stoned? you may want to unplug for a while.
Nicolas Bacca [8:09 AM] At that point I think the best course of action is to demonstrate to the miners that segwit works well with multiple wallets and that well, one team is slightly more serious than the other one.
Michael Toomim [8:09 AM] No they didn't get paid. Duh. The miners have all the money. They are the ones who pay.
dts [8:09 AM] It is legal in Washington State as far as I know
taek [8:09 AM] @mtoomim: you keep trying to flatter us. We don't work for free. We are not impressed with the direction you are taking things and we don't feel inclined to work on your vision. Ours is in the process of being shredded to pieces, why do you think we will maintain morale and motivation?
James Hillard [8:09 AM] I hardly consider a sub MW mining operation to be much of anything at this point.
taek [8:09 AM] ugh
anduck [8:09 AM] mtoomim: thanks
Michael Toomim [8:09 AM] Yeah it's legal here. 1
Colin Delargy [8:09 AM] I don’t think I could think of something more off topic. 1
Michael Toomim [8:09 AM] @taek I don't give the vision. YOU give the vision. Come give it.
[8:09] I just create a place for you to talk and listen.
dts [8:09 AM] @mtoomim: you really aren't doing yourself any favors
Michael Toomim [8:10 AM] I'm hosting the forum.
eric-ledger [8:10 AM] this is insane
p2phash [8:10 AM] funny though
dts [8:10 AM] I hope this is saved for posterity
Adam Back [8:10 AM] mtoomim: i dont think yes. i think you should go sleep it off.
Michael Toomim [8:10 AM] This is great! I love this conversation guys!
eric-ledger [8:10 AM] doe anyone know for sure he is the real Michael Toomim?
Michael Toomim [8:10 AM] You are real fun.
dts [8:10 AM] he verified his email as the same one on Classic Slack
Michael Toomim [8:10 AM] Nobody texted me.
[8:10] :stuck_out_tongue:
gamersg [8:10 AM] mtoomim: If SW via SF increases effective block size to 2MB, why are you pushing for a 2MB HF (honest qsn)
Michael Toomim [8:10 AM] Text me a random code at +++++++++++++
Adam Back [8:11 AM] eric-ledger: oh maybe it's a look alike account.
dts [8:11 AM] why do you have an Oakland number
Michael Toomim [8:11 AM] Because the people who voted aren't pushing for it.
[8:11] I went to school at uc berkeley.
Colin Delargy [8:11 AM] content style matches https://www.reddit.com/usetoomim reddit: the front page of the internet
p2phash [8:11 AM] @gamersg: not a full 2mb of transactions really is it?
anduck [8:11 AM] gamersg: that's been asked like hundred times. he refuses to answer.
taek [8:11 AM] I do feel like I've been properly baited. @mtoomim: my vision is a cryptocurrency that is immune to political influence. That vision does not seem to be present in the current ecosystem
Michael Toomim [8:11 AM] @dts are you nearby?
dts [8:11 AM] that explains the pot
Michael Toomim [8:12 AM] haha Yeah it does.
[8:12] And acid
judahmu [8:12 AM] we liked dts better as luke-jr
dts [8:12 AM] I'm flattered
James Hillard [8:12 AM] Is this what future bitcoin development conversations are going to look like? 1
dts [8:12 AM] Yes he is the real deal, not a troll, kind of unbelievable
James Hillard [8:13 AM] This is insane
oneeman [8:13 AM] tomorrow is a holiday
taek [8:13 AM] :}
dts [8:13 AM] He did go to UC berkeley and slack sends you an email to verify it
oneeman [8:13 AM] as good a day as any to cut loose, I guess
drdave [8:14 AM] joined #general
Adam Back [8:15 AM] are we sure mtoomim is actually michael toomim? wasnt it toomim before?
anduck [8:15 AM] it's michael toomim
[8:15] changed nick to mtoomim
Brian Hoffman [8:15 AM] What a cluster fuck
Michael Toomim [8:15 AM] @taek There are politics in every social system. Our job is to improve them. That's why we made Bitcoin Classic. The problem with politics is that they get in the way, and so make political communication more efficient, so it gets out of the way.
Adam Back [8:16 AM] anduck: well he said that, but what if that itself was a spoof?
anduck [8:16 AM] @adam3us: the email looks legit, at least
Adam Back [8:16 AM] mtoomim: what hashrate does toom.im have?
Michael Toomim [8:16 AM] We are the first forum that can visualize over 1,000 opinions on a single page.
dts [8:16 AM] less than 1%
Michael Toomim [8:16 AM] We scale.
Adam Back [8:16 AM] so email him a code see if he can answer it?
Luke-Jr [8:16 AM] what's the invite link again?
Michael Toomim [8:16 AM] @adam3us: We only have a small amount. Most of our capacity goes to customers who host with us.
Adam Back [8:16 AM] slack.bitcoincore.org
Michael Toomim [8:17 AM] We have 750 kW of power capacity.
dino_m [8:17 AM] joined #general
dts [8:17 AM] @btcdrak: should put it on the front page of bitcoincore.org
Luke-Jr [8:17 AM] thx. what is the share rules for this link?
dts [8:17 AM] it's posted already on there just hidden behind "contribute"
Luke-Jr [8:17 AM] k, so public
Michael Toomim [8:17 AM] So you can multiply 750 kW by the average efficiency to get the hashrate at our facility.
kang [8:18 AM] joined #general
Michael Toomim [8:18 AM] Text me it's faster.
Patrick Strateman [8:18 AM] @mtoomim: well divide by x and carry the... <1%
oneeman [8:18 AM] someone in ##bitcoin asked a day or two ago if maybe bitcoin classic was just a viral marketing ploy for consider.it ... 2
Michael Toomim [8:18 AM] Probably
anduck [8:19 AM] oneeman: well it certainly looks like so
[8:19] mtoomim has advertised it like 10 times in an hour
oneeman [8:19 AM] I thought the question was a joke, but now I'm not so sure
anduck [8:19 AM] and nobody still cares about it.
Michael Toomim [8:19 AM] And we're all a viral marketing campaign for bitcoin! 2
Patrick Strateman [8:19 AM] @oneeman: lold
Michael Toomim [8:19 AM] Ok what am I not answering now?
anduck [8:19 AM] mtoomim: read the log.
[8:19] please.
Michael Toomim [8:19 AM] Come on!
Adam Back [8:19 AM] mtoomim: nice. yes coincidentally i had looked at your hosting service for some miners i had a while back.
Michael Toomim [8:19 AM] It's so long
[8:19] You talk fast
[8:20] I've responded very well to everything I've been able to tackle
anduck [8:20 AM] you're already deeming others to do the btc deving work for you, don't make us read the logs you should read(edited)
Michael Toomim [8:20 AM] I want you to choose
[8:20] There are a lot of options up there
Patrick Strateman [8:20 AM] @mtoomim: Would you be OK with a world in which virtually all Bitcoin users run SPV clients and only a handful of trusted third parties operate full nodes?
alie1 [8:20 AM] joined #general
Michael Toomim [8:20 AM] You get power, you can choose what I talk about!
[8:20] Good question!
[8:21] Ok, so I need to answer this well. Give me these numbers:
  1. The percent of SPV clients
  2. The number of full nodes
[8:21] I'll give you my opinion.
James Hillard [8:21 AM] toomims hosting service is small peanuts in the scheme of things, I manage multiple MW scale large farms in multiple countries and even then have only about 1% of network hashpower
Michael Toomim [8:21 AM] Good job James!
[8:21] Congratulations!
epscy [8:22 AM] joined #general
Michael Toomim [8:22 AM] Hey can someone get Greg Maxwell? I love that guy!
Patrick Strateman [8:22 AM] @mtoomim: 100 full nodes run by say blockstream, coinbase, mit, etc etc everybody else runs spv clients
Michael Toomim [8:22 AM] I want him to work with Classic!
Adam Back [8:22 AM] mtoomim: i sent you an email to auth your slack handle here
dts [8:22 AM] yeah verify
Adam Back [8:22 AM] can you paste or type the code in
dts [8:23 AM] otherwise bravo on excellent trolling
taek [8:23 AM] @phantomcircuit: I don't think conversation with mtoomim is going to go anywhere.
Michael Toomim [8:23 AM] uploaded an image: Cool! Add Comment
dts [8:23 AM] it's listed as his email in the classic slack
Adam Back [8:23 AM] ok then. that's pretty confirmed.
Michael Toomim [8:23 AM] Fuck yeah it is!
Oliver [8:23 AM] @jameshilliard you inadvertently did so when you referred to those voting on consider.it and supporting Classic as the "uneducated masses."
After all, I didn't give up my anonymity and finally get involved with bitcoin dev in any way until Classic arrived on the scene.
There are many more exactly like me who have signed up to finally have our voices heard and votes counted. Some, like me, are incredibly sick of (and saddened) by the Core devs' seeming ignorance of the fact that it's NOT ok to completely ignore the wants of the community.
I'm here now, and I'm here to help. My greatest desire is to somehow help bring Core and Classic together with a compromise. I'd like to see collaboration and an understanding that the road map requires a lot more than Core's blessing.(edited)
Michael Toomim [8:23 AM] That's like, real!
[8:23] It'd be so hard for me to photoshop that in 50 seconds
[8:24] Photoshop sucks
[8:24] I can do better in omnigraffle
[8:24] and built-in OSX screenshotting
[8:24] @phantomcircuit: That scenario is fucked up, dude! Everybody runs an SPV client? Sounds like fucking fascist china man!
Luke-Jr [8:24 AM] considering how quickly my PR for Classic was shot down without discussion...
frankenmint [8:24 AM] joined #general

Michael Toomim [8:25 AM] They need it!
Luke-Jr [8:25 AM] lol
dts [8:25 AM] uploaded an image: Here is his email listed in classic slack Add Comment Michael Toomim [8:25 AM] @eric-ledger: I'm loving this conversation!
[8:25] I'm here to help you guys!
eric-ledger [8:25 AM] well I do also love it
James Hillard [8:25 AM] @opet: I didn't mean to imply that everyone voting on there is uneducated.
Michael Toomim [8:25 AM] I want to make it easier to dev bitcoin!
eric-ledger [8:25 AM] but it may come back and bite you in the ass
Michael Toomim [8:26 AM] Haha
[8:26] That would be fun!
[8:26] Like a snake.
Patrick Strateman [8:26 AM] @mtoomim: Do you not realize that scenario is exactly the one you're moving towards with classic?
Michael Toomim [8:26 AM] Woah! No I don't!
[8:26] Please tell me how that's happening!
[8:26] How are we going to force everyone to use SPV clients?
[8:27] That means that we have to force people not to run a full node.
[8:27] Right now it's pretty easy to run a full node.
[8:27] I run one on this laptop.
[8:27] My laptop's only getting bigger and better every year.
[8:27] And the democracy cares about this!
[8:27] They won't let full nodes stop running on their laptops.
elliotolds [8:27 AM] @opet: what do you think as this (proposed earlier by someone else here) for a compromise: in April we hard fork to 2 MB, then we do segwit later in the year, maybe October or something, but whenever Core is comfortable releasing it? (sooner is fine, even along with the April HF is OK if they want it then)
Michael Toomim [8:27 AM] They want full nodes to run on their laptops!
[8:27] They want it so bad!
Patrick Strateman [8:27 AM] @mtoomim: so four or five tabs? 4
Michael Toomim [8:27 AM] I want it so bad!
[8:27] I love bitcoin on my laptop!
[8:28] It's like a girlfriend in your lap!
[8:28] Isn't it?
eric-ledger [8:28 AM] omg
Michael Toomim [8:28 AM] Who wants to relegate her to the server room?
dinbits [8:28 AM]
I'm here to help you guys! @mtoomim: Do you plan on saying anything helpful?(edited)
Michael Toomim [8:28 AM] That's for herems.

[8:28] @dinbits I want to be helpful! What would you like me to help you with?

[8:29] Kapoho tide pools on the big island
[8:29] That was so great!

[8:30] It's when you are wrong.
[8:30] In Bitcoin, we have a problem of admitting when we're wrong.
[8:30] Because there's no data on it.
elliotolds [8:30 AM] I wonder if this is some sort of Machiavellian plot, and later Jonathan will come in here and seem like the most reasonable person in the world in comparison 3
Michael Toomim [8:30 AM] We're giving you social data.
